Getting to Young’s Tourism & Fishing Lodge, you must come to the town of Burgeo, located on the South West Coast of Newfoundland.
If driving, proceed West on Route 1 towards Stephenville or Port Aux Basques. A few kilometres past Barachois Pond Provincial Park on Route 1 is the intersection with Route 480 – the aptly named Caribou Trail, which winds 148 kilometers through the forests and barrens of the rugged interior to the south coast community of Burgeo.
If you are driving East from Port Aux Basques, watch for the exit signs indicating Route 480, the Caribou Trail. This will be before you reach Barachois Provincial Park.
In Burgeo, leave your vehicle on the wharf, and take a two hour ferry ride to Grey RIver. The ferry leaves at 1:45 Pm and arrives at Grey River at 3:45 pm. At Grey River, there will be someone at the wharf in Grey River to meet you and take you to the lodge, which is 7 miles from the community.
If you are arriving by air, you will be landing in one of two airports, the Deer Lake Regional Airport or the Stephenville Airport. When you make your arrangements for your fishing trip, please let us know which airport you will be arriving at, with the date and time of your arrival and a representative of our company will be at the airport to greet you and take you to Young’s Tourism & Fishing Lodge.
Youngs Tourism & Fishing Lodge is approximately 7 miles from the small coastal town of Grey River, which is only accessible through a two hour ferry ride from the Town of Burgeo.
